Togo’s Eateries Inc., a “West Coast Original” since 1971 serving up big, meaty, made to order sandwiches stuffed with fresh ingredients, is proud to announce it has awarded three California employees with a $1,000 college scholarship through the Togo’s Education Fund. The sandwich chain launched the academic scholarship program to help support team members who are continuing their education while working at Togo’s. The awards were based on employee essays about their future goals and ambitions.
Recipients of the Togo’s Education Fund scholarship included Melody Brown, a Sacramento-area student at both Sierra College and Epic Bible College majoring in ministerial studies; Esmeralda Mendez, a student majoring in engineering at San Jose State University; and Bianca Perez, a business major at Pasadena City College. All three students have been employees of Togo’s for more than two years.
“Togo’s would like to congratulate the inaugural recipients of the Togo’s Education Fund on their achievements,” says Tony Gioia, chairman and CEO of Togo’s Holdings. “Our company is devoted to giving back to the communities it serves, and this commitment extends to Togo’s dedicated staff at our nearly 250 locations. These hardworking team members have contributed to Togo’s fun and friendly atmosphere, and as a thank you, we want to make an investment in their future.”
At Togo’s, there is a commitment to using only fresh, superior-quality ingredients and meats. Fresh baked Artisan bread, abundant quantities of lean pastrami, roast beef, turkey, and other premium meats as well as California avocados are part of Togo’s menu.
