The Brandon Town Center, a Westfield Shopping Mall in Brandon Florida, is the site of the newest Topper’s Creamery, having opened this morning. At 218-square feet, the specific location is convenient to the East Entrance and adjacent to retailers such as Zales Jewelers, The Children’s Place, Finish Line, and Kay Jewelers, among others. The Brandon Town Center itself draws 10 million people a year.
The announcement was made by Topper’s Creamery chairman and cofounder Wade Oney, who also owns more than 50 Papa John’s locations as well as eight Qdoba stores. Oney is a former COO for Papa John’s Pizza.
“We are very pleased to have opened today at the Brandon Town Center,” Oney says. “This is almost a natural fit for us geographically, bridging our Valrico store and the new location in Riverview.
“More importantly, to be in with Westfield, who is a leader in their own industry, at a mall that sees the volume of foot traffic that the Brandon Town Center does, we have high expectations for this newest addition to the Topper’s family.”
Topper’s President/CEO Greg Sausaman adds, “We have ‘The best soft-serve ice cream on the planet’ and Westfield has a major national presence and in the U.K. It’s great synergy as we continue our growth.
“And we won’t stop here,” Sausaman says. “We have plans already in place for other traditional and nontraditional locations. Stay tuned.”
With its own proprietary recipe for its brand of soft-serve ice cream, Topper’s Creamery currently has freestanding locations as well as nontraditional locations in hotels and colleges spanning central Florida from coast to coast.
