DES MOINES, Iowa —May 8, 2002— As of yesterday, Tricon Global Restaurants (NYSE: YUM) has added over 2,000 new restaurants to its stable. The parent company of KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco announced Tuesday that it is now the owner of both the Long John Silver’s and A & W All-American brands.
With the addition of the 2 brands, Tricon now has 32,500-plus quick-serve restaurants worldwide. The company has said it plans to use its 2 new brands to develop further co-branding opportunities.
