Tropical Smoothie Café was named to the AllBusiness “AllStar Franchise” list, a comprehensive listing of the nation’s top 300 franchise companies.

Dun & Bradstreet’s AllBusiness AllStars rankings listed the top 300 best franchises in the country. The rankings assessed the strengths of franchising companies based upon criteria such as Web visibility and the latest financial strength scores from Dun & Bradstreet. The company’s team of editors researched, compiled, and analyzed more than 800 franchise systems to compile the AllBusiness “AllStar Franchises” list, which draws upon the in-depth financial analysis of its parent company, Dun and Bradstreet (D&B).

In addition to being named to the list, Tropical Smoothie Café was also ranked in the top third of the growth category, one of the key factors the editors analyzed.

“This ranking further validates our strength and stability as a franchise system,” says Jim Valentino, president and chief operating officer of Tropical Smoothie Cafe. “Our brand is performing well even during this tough economy because people are always willing to spend for high-quality, real fruit smoothies, our new Grilled Flatbreads, or any of their favorite menu items. Being named to a list as prestigious as D&B’s AllBusiness “AllStars” speaks volumes to our accomplishments.”

The chain recently rolled out a new menu, including a variety of new food and beverage items, reformulated recipes, and the addition of Grilled Flatbreads as a permanent offering to further support Tropical Smoothie Café’s “Eat Better, Feel Better” positioning.

With 285 locations nationwide, Tropical Smoothie Café has experienced double-digit growth in 2009 and is on track for further aggressive growth in 2010.

Tropical Smoothie Café also has achieved nationwide recognition for its National Flip Flop Day celebration, which began in 2007. For the last two years, Tropical Smoothie Café has turned the celebration into a philanthropic campaign by partnering with Camp Sunshine, a year-long retreat that provides respite, support, joy, and hope to children with life-threatening illnesses.

During the month of June, Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations nationwide invite customers to contribute to the Camp Sunshine fundraising effort through the purchase of paper flip flops, which are posted throughout the store. This year, the chain’s locations raised a combined $275,000.
