Chicken sandwiches have long been a staple on restaurant menus, but not at El Pollo Loco. But beginning May 1, El Pollo Loco proves will add two new sandwiches to its menu – the Guacamole Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the Jalapeno Grilled Chicken Sandwich.
Both sandwiches begin with a citrus-marinated chicken breast grilled over open flames. The chicken is then placed on a grilled telera roll (Mexican style soft bread used for traditional torta sandwiches) and topped with shredded lettuce and pico de gallo. A generous helping of tasty guacamole completes the Guacamole Chicken Sandwich. Sliced jalapenos, Pepper Jack cheese and spicy Southwest sauce kick up the flavor of the Jalapeno Chicken Sandwich.
Commenting on El Pollo Loco’s latest chicken sandwiches, Karen Eadon, chief marketing officer for El Pollo Loco, says, “There’s certainly no shortage of chicken sandwiches on today’s menus, which is why our team of culinary professionals wouldn’t settle for anything less than extraordinary when creating sandwiches featuring our award-winning flame-grilled chicken. Our perseverance paid off. Our two new sandwiches truly pay homage to the chicken that put us on the map.”
El Pollo Loco will communicate the availability of its new Chicken Sandwiches with new television spots targeting general audiences and Spanish language audiences begin airing in select West Coast markets May 9, 2010. In addition to television advertising, a wide mix of point-of-purchase vehicles will be used, including banners, translites, window clings, and drive-thru communication.
