Urban Bricks Pizza, a fast-casual chain serving next generation, quick Artisan pizza and salad, has signed a franchise agreement to bring three new restaurants to the Carolinas. This deal is part of the brand’s rapid expansion with franchise investors, who are also breaking ground in Texas, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Oregon, Montana and Canada.
Harvard Law graduate and Charlotte local, Dan Tangeman of Urban NC Bricks LLC plans to open three Carolina Urban Bricks Pizza locations within the next three years. He is the general counsel at BNI (Business Network International), an international franchised networking organization headquartered out of Charlotte. Accordingly, he anticipates his first Urban Bricks Pizza location to be in the Tar Heel State of North Carolina. A fan of Neapolitan pizza, Tangeman was attracted to the fast-casual model’s alignment with consumer demand for quick food. After researching several Neapolitan fast-casual pizza franchise opportunities, Tangeman discovered Urban Bricks Pizza and was sold on the brand’s quality product offering, operational efficiency and wide range of available ingredients.
“I believe in the Urban Bricks Pizza product and that it will stand out among other fast-casual pizza offerings in the state,” says Tangeman. “I’m excited to introduce the Urban Bricks Pizza brand to the Carolinas.”
Urban Bricks Pizza offers authentic, customizable Neapolitan pizza with an all-American attitude. Unlike other fast-casual pizza concepts, Urban Bricks Pizza offers delivery, drive-thru and full bar options. The concept was founded in the Alamo City by build-your-own franchise veteran, Sammy Aldeeb, who previously owned more than 20 franchise locations between Marble Slab Creamery, Subway and Great American Cookie Co. before launching his own brand.
“We’re thrilled to have Dan join our family and debut our fun brand in North Carolina,” says Urban Bricks Pizza CEO and Founder Sammy Aldeeb. “Urban Bricks Pizza is capitalizing on America’s love for delicious, fast yet authentic food as we expand into new markets across the country.”
At Urban Bricks Pizza, each pizza starts with fresh, never frozen dough made in-house every morning that was designed by World Pizza Champion Michele d’Amelio. Gluten-friendly and wheat options are also available. Customers can choose from more than 30 ingredients that are prepared fresh each morning to top their pizza. Urban Bricks Pizza uses flour and tomatoes imported from Italy. Guests also have the option to select from build-your-own salads, wings and premium Italian gelato.
Urban Bricks Pizza currently has 11 locations open in Texas and Ontario, Canada, with two under construction and 25 committed leases. There are more than 120 committed stores through Urban Bricks Pizza’s master franchise agreements.
For those looking to invest in America’s love for pizza, the total investment, from buying an Urban Bricks Pizza franchise to selling slices, ranges from $195,000 to $680,000. Previous restaurant experience is advantageous. The brand is currently looking to expand nationwide, especially in the southeastern corridor between Texas and Florida. Urban Bricks Pizza is the only fast-casual pizza concept to offer master franchise agreements for new markets. For markets where an Urban Bricks Pizza is present, single unit agreements are available.
