Wahlburgers, the better burger restaurant founded by Executive Chef Paul Wahlberg with brothers Mark and Donnie, is now open in Manhattan on the Upper East Side at 1633 Second Avenue.
Wahlburgers has had its eye on Manhattan, starting with the Upper East Side and opening in coming months in Times Square. The brand is quickly establishing itself among the nation’s top burger destinations with a growing fan base for its chef-inspired menu. Guests may choose from a variety of tasty burgers as well as sandwiches, salads, vegetarian options, and home-style side dishes, such as Tater Tots, Mac N’ Cheese with Smoked Bacon, and Alma’s Classic Macaroni Salad. All burgers are made fresh and topped with house-made condiments—15 in total, including Chef Paul’s signature Wahl sauce, dill pickles, honey-garlic mayo, butternut squash, tomato jam, avocado spread, and more.
“I’m all about making people happy, and there’s no better way to do that than with food.” says Executive Chef Paul Wahlberg. “Our goal is to put a smile on the face of every New Yorker and out-of-town visitor who walks into our place.”
According to Chef Paul, it’s the quality of the meat and the quality of the bun that makes or breaks the burger. Wahlburgers uses a proprietary blend of beef, ground fresh, and artisan buns baked by local bakers using all natural grains and pure ingredients. House-made condiments then take it to the next level, whether it’s the basics like mustard, ketchup, and pickles, or something more adventurous like butternut squash.
Highlights of the menu include Paul’s favorite, The Our Burger—topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, “government” cheese, Wahl sauce, and house-made pickles. Brother Mark prefers The Thanksgiving Day Sandwich—fresh ground seasoned turkey burger, stuffing, mayo, house-made orange-cranberry sauce, and roasted butternut squash. Donnie’s choice is The BBQ Bacon Burger with white cheddar, bacon, fresh jalapeños, house-made BBQ sauce, and avocado spread.
At Wahlburgers, guests can choose to sit down and enjoy full table service or grab-n-go from the take-out window. In addition, the restaurant offers a full-service bar with wide screen TVs, a vast selection of wine and beer, specialty cocktails and an assortment of adult frappes.
Wahlburgers Upper East Side at 1633 Second Avenue in NYC boasts 160 seats including a 25-foot-long centerpiece bar. Hours of operation are 11 to 11 p.m.
