Wayback Burgers, America’s favorite hometown burger joint and one of the nation’s fastest growing burger franchises, is riding a wave of momentum in 2018. The company is approaching major milestones while introducing its world-famous burgers, fries and milkshakes to fans in brand new states and countries. This surge comes on the heels of a prosperous 2017.
The rapidly growing franchise chain’s global presence was bolstered with the opening of a new restaurant in Sudan. The Sudan location is Wayback Burgers’ second in Africa, joining the restaurant in Morocco. To date, Wayback Burgers can be found in Argentina, Brunei, Kuwait, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia (with plans to open very soon in the Netherlands and Bangladesh).
Domestically, Wayback Burgers continues to thrive. In Q1, Wayback Burgers opened three new locations, including Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland and Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC (both owned by Azhar Mubeen) and Hinesville, Georgia, (owned by David McElhaney).
That third new Q1 location proves the popularity of Wayback Burgers is on full display just off Georgia’s coast. David McElhaney, who also owns the Beaufort, South Carolina, Wayback restaurant, opened his second restaurant in Hinesville, just south of Savannah, in late February, and he’s off to a blistering sales pace. In a two-week span, McElhaney netted revenues exceeding $90,000. McElhaney, a veteran of fast-casual restaurants, attributes his success to research, the power of social media, and gut-feelings.
Wayback Burgers’ Executive Vice President, Bill Chemero, is impressed by McElhaney’s sizzling sales start, but not entirely surprised.
“Our success is contingent on providing our guests the opportunity to sit back, relax and enjoy fresh, never frozen burgers, delicious fries, and hand-dipped milkshakes in a comfortable setting,” says Chemero. “David knows the business well, did his homework, scouted the perfect location and is now reaping the perks of his meticulous preparation. It was obvious the wonderful residents of Hinesville were starving for quality meals and David is delivering just that as the local Wayback owner. His success is truly a testament to his phenomenal operational skills and commitment to delivering fantastic experiences to each guest.”
