Wendy’s International Inc. (NYSE: WEN) announced today that it has begun test marketing suggested meals with less than ten grams of fat.

The promotion, being tested in New York, Miami, Philadelphia, Columbus, Ohio and Seattle restaurants, highlights food items that have been on Wendy's menu for many years. Meal combinations being highlighted in Seattle, New York, and Philadelphia include:

*Grilled chicken sandwich, side salad w/fat-free dressing, and a diet soft drink (7g fat/410 calories)

*Junior hamburger, side salad w/fat-free dressing, and a diet soft drink (9g fat/380 calories)

*Large chili, side salad w/fat-free dressing, and a diet soft drink (8g fat/410 calories)

*Plain baked potato, small chili, and a diet soft drink (5g fat/510 calories)

Wendy’s says the meal promotions are brought on by demand. "In today's rapidly changing world, our customers are our compass. We listen intently to their needs, and continue to follow their lead," said Don Calhoon, Wendy's executive vice president, marketing.
