The National Food Service Security Council (NFSSC) announced that David Karam, president of Wendy’s International, will keynote the opening of its 31st Annual Conference from August 1 to 4 in St. Louis. NFSSC also announced that Michael Kupstas, chief franchise officer for Panera LLC, will keynote the Day 2 program. NFSSC is a trade association for loss prevention and risk management professionals in the casual-dining and quick-service restaurant chain industries.

“Having speakers like David Karam and Michael Kupstas underscores the importance and essential need for quality loss prevention professionals in the [quick-service] industry,” says Jim Forlenza, executive director of NFSSC. “We are extremely pleased to be able to offer our members an opportunity to hear the views and thoughts of an executive like Dave Karam. His insights and views on LP issues are extremely important to our members and our community. To be able to blend his thoughts with a hugely successful franchise officer like Mike Kupstas will only add to the quality programming we are able to offer and be of greater benefit to our conference participants.”

The annual conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency at the Arch. In addition to the keynote sessions, the event features educational sessions and workshops, exhibits, scheduled practitioner/vendor meetings, and a host of entertaining networking functions. Topics include online investigations, dealing with media in crisis situations, security methods and practices, and other real-world topics and best practices offering a host of solutions and insights for everyday situations. NFSSC will be announcing other major industry speakers over the next several weeks.
