Wentworth Technology has hired Brian Rigney as executive vice president and COO. Rigney brings to Wentworth 15 years’ experience leading high-performing, entrepreneurial teams in launching and growing innovative businesses.

Since 2009, Rigney served as vice president sales & business development for CashStar, Inc., the SaaS–based digital gift card company, whose client list includes The Home Depot, Starbucks, Williams-Sonoma, GAP, Walmart, Brinker Restaurants, Best Buy, CVS/pharmacy, UNO’s Chicago Grill,and more than200 other leading national retailers and restaurants.
In that role, he led strategy development,as well as all sales and business development activities, including the launch of two new business lines.
From 2008 to 2009, Rigney led sales and client service operations for REZ-1, a leading provider of SaaS–based transportation software and services to the transportation market.
From 2006 to 2008, Rigney also led the development of a cutting-edge payments solution for the North American construction market for WEX, Inc., a leading international provider of fleet cards.
Rigney is also the founder and former CEO of BlueTarp Financial, an innovative information and payments company for which, between 1999 and 2005, he successfully led the company from concept through revenue generation. Now 13 years old, the company still leads the market.
Rigney holds a B.A. from Colby College and an MBA from University of Pittsburgh.
