Whataburger is bringing the late-night game to downtown Austin this SXSW by partnering with San Antonio–based nonprofit organization Choose SA as the late-night sponsor of their “official San Antonio Cultural Embassy” three-night event. Whataburger will serve up its fan-favorite Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits at the historical Old School Bar & Grill, Friday, March 11 through Sunday, March 13 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Whataburger will have customized french fry pedicabs on the streets of Austin the month of March. Fans can snap a photo with the pedicabs and tag #FryRide for a chance to win a customized Whataburger bicycle. Whataburger will also offer partygoers a free ride to and from the Old School Bar & Grill for the Choose SA event. Attendees should be on the lookout for one of Whataburger’s french fry pedicabs to request a free #FryRide on the nights of March 11 through 13 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. only.

“Whataburger is the go-to late-night spot in Texas, so partnering with Choose SA at South by Southwest to bring our famous Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits was a natural fit,” says Pam Cox, Whataburger’s vice president of corporate communications. “We’ll also be giving away some exclusive Whataburger swag, so we think this will be a party people want to attend. And there’s no better way to arrive in style than in a Whataburger french fry pedicab.”

Whataburger has grown from a single burger stand in 1950 to more than 790 locations across 10 states. The 24-hour restaurants are known for its burgers made with 100 percent pure beef and fresh-cut vegetables, along with its popular french fries, onion rings, chicken strips, shakes, and more. The company also serves its popular breakfast menu, including the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit and Taquitos, from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m.

Sharing its headquarters location of San Antonio with Choose SA, Whataburger is proud to tell the story of San Antonio and the city’s commitment to community giving to a diverse and innovative crowd at South by Southwest.
