Whataburger fans now have a chance to win an exclusive visit to Whataburger's test kitchen where Whataburger's new sandwich creations are invented.
The contest launches Monday, January 12. Fans will shoot a short video saying "mmmmm" after taking a bite of the new Chicken Strip Monterey Melt and share it on any social media platform with the hashtag #mmmelt.
The most creative submissions will have a shot at winning the following prizes:
Weekly Winners: Exclusive Whataburger Chicken Strip Monterey Melt Mixer
Three weekly winners will receive private parties for 25 friends at their local Whataburger restaurant. The festivities will include a feast of Whataburger favorites, including the new Chicken Strip Monterey Melt sandwich. Guests will receive exclusive swag and other Whataburger-themed prizes.
Grand Prize Winner: VIP Whataburger Experience
One grand prize winner will enjoy a weekend trip for two to San Antonio, Texas, where Whataburger is headquartered, with hotel and airfare included. As part of their VIP Whataburger experience, the winner and guest will have the opportunity to tour the official Whataburger test kitchen and taste exciting new products Whataburger is working on for the year. The winner and guest will also receive tickets and entry to local attractions.
Released December 29, 2014, the Chicken Strip Monterey Melt sandwich was inspired by Whataburger's Monterey Melt, and is stacked high with three crispy, all-white meat chicken strips, two slices of Monterey Jack cheese, grilled onions, poblano and red bell peppers, and topped off with Whataburger's signature Jalapeño Ranch sauce -- all served on a toasted five inch bun.
"The Chicken Strip Monterey Melt takes the legendary flavors of Jalapeño Ranch, cheese, and grilled peppers and onions to a whole new level," says Whataburger vice president of marketing and innovation Rich Scheffler. The contest will last through 11:59 p.m. on February 5, 2015, and the winners will be announced on Whataburger's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, and contacted individually.
