Innovation has always been an integral part of White Castle, fast-food hamburger chain. As a tribute to the Slider's iconic place in pop culture and to channel the creative energy of Cravers everywhere, White Castle is announcing the call for entries for the 2013 Crave Time Cook-Off. White Castle challenges devoted fans to buy a sack of 10 Sliders and create a unique recipe.
"We're very lucky to have a nation of dedicated Cravers willing to create new and exciting recipes, and this is a fun way for Craver Nation to showcase their culinary skills," says Jamie Richardson, vice president of White Castle.
Contestants must invent a new recipe incorporating 10 White Castle Sliders. All recipes must include meat, onions, and buns. Pickles and cheese are optional. A winner will be announced in November.
A panel of trained culinary professionals chosen by White Castle will review and taste the recipes. The judges will select the top three recipes to be voted on by Cravers. The top three recipes will be posted on the Craver Nation website from October 7 through October 28. Friends and family members are encouraged to join Craver Nation and vote.

If a Craver's dish is deemed the most Crave-worthy recipe, the winner will receive an exclusive grand prize appearance in a video with White Castle's executive chef, a trip to visit the White Castle headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, combined with one Crave Case filled with Original Sliders every week for a year. That's 1,560 Original Sliders. If the winner does not live near a White Castle restaurant, the prize will include $1,000 worth of Frozen Sliders.
To enter, contestants can visit CraverNation.WhiteCastle.com and become a member of the Craver Nation. Existing members of Craver Nation should log in to their existing profile. Click on Challenges at the top of the page and then the Crave Time Cook Off link to enter the contest. Complete the required information and upload the recipe.
Entries are due by August 31, 2013.
