The World’s Largest Hot Dog Chain is once again stocking up on buns and bracing for visits by hot dog lovers nationwide wanting to celebrate the chain’s anniversary with the best hot dog prices of the year.
This year, to mark the 56th year since John Galardi opened his first Wienerschnitzel in Wilmington, Calif., the Irvine, California, based chain is offering a special 56-cent price for its Original Mustard Dog, the beloved grilled hot dog topped with French’s mustard, or the Original Chili Dog, featuring Wienerschnitzel’s world-famous, secret-recipe chili.
The special price is valid on July 11 only while supplies last at participating Wienerschnitzel restaurants. There is a limit of 10 hot dogs per person.
“At Wienerschnitzel, we’re all about celebrations—and no celebration is bigger than our anniversary,” says Doug Koegeboehn, Wienerschnitzel chief marketing officer. “While it may be our birthday, it’s our loyal fans – both old and new—that reap the rewards of this major milestone. This annual July 11 party has become a cherished tradition at Wienerschnitzels nationwide.”
“We can’t think of a better way to mark our 56th year of making food ‘the Wienerschnitzel way’ than with 56-cent dogs,” says JR Galardi, executive vice president at Wienerschnitzel. “We’re proud to celebrate the success that my father, John Galardi, started back in 1961. The only challenge for hot dog fans is choosing between the Mustard and Chili Dog.”
John Galardi started in the restaurant industry in Missouri at the age of 12, and moved to Los Angeles at 19 to open his first Wienerschnitzel. As the chain grew to meet customer demand, Galardi added The Original Hamburger Stand restaurants in Denver and other cities, and Tastee-Freez ice cream to Wienerschnitzel menus nationwide. Today, Wienerschnitzel operates 331 restaurants in 10 states and Guam.
