Wienerschnitzel, the world’s largest hot dog chain, celebrated the grand opening of its first location in McAllen, Texas, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at 10 a.m.
During the grand opening celebration, Wienerschnitzel handed out coupons to guests for a free chili dog and a soft serve cone, as a limited time offer. The new Wienerschnitzel restaurant is located at 3620 W. Expressway 83, Suite #150, at the intersection of Expressway 83 and Ware Road. The grand opening expanded Wienerschnitzel’s franchise locations in Texas to a total of 41 locations.
Officiating the ribbon cutting ceremony was franchise holder Pat Nolan and Dennis Tase, president of Galardi Group Inc., the parent company of Wienerschnitzel. A live, radio broadcast was held on-site throughout the day hosted by local stations KBSM-FM (Wild 104) and KVLY-FM (Mix 107.9). In addition, “der-licious” giveaways were offered to guests including Wienerschnitzel T-shirts and “The Delicious One” mascot antenna toppers.
“We’re very pleased to celebrate the grand opening in McAllen and bring to the community our der-licious Wienerschnitzel menu and fantastic, everyday value offers,” says Tom Amberger, vice president of marketing at Wienerschnitzel. “McAllen has given Wienerschnitzel such a warm welcome and we look forward to working with and giving back to this special community.”
