Wienerschnitzel, the world’s largest hot dog chain, has announced its sponsorship of American race car driver J.R. Hildebrand for the 2015 Indianapolis 500. As part of the endorsement, Wienerschnitzel’s logo will be displayed on Hildebrand’s helmet worn during the race, where he’ll drive the No. 6 car for Indianapolis-based CHF Racing. This will be Hildebrand’s fifth Indy 500 start.
“I’m pumped to get back on track at Indy this year, and to have Wienerschnitzel on board for the ride,” Hildebrand says. “Seeing what they’ve done in Supercross and in the racing world has been really cool, so it’s exciting to be part of their motorsports family.”
The Indy 500 is televised in more than 200 countries, reaching 344 million-plus fans, and is the largest attended single-day sporting event in the world. The sponsorship is the latest in Wienerschnitzel’s strategic alignment with heavy hitters in the motorsports world.
“We are very excited to be a part of the Indy 500 and to have the opportunity to build new relationships,” says Cindy Galardi Culpepper, Wienerschnitzel’s chairman and CEO. “The Indianapolis 500 is ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,’ and having Wienerschnitzel be a part of that is a milestone for the company. We look forward to cheering on our driver, JR Hildebrand, as he races!”
The Indianapolis 500 will air live on Sunday, May 24, on ABC at 11:00 a.m. EST.
