“We strive to reach various audiences, like the “Generation Y” demographic, by creating a unique contest that utilizes our Web site,” said Tom Amberger, director of marketing for Wienerschnitzel. “In this case, we used our Web site to play matchmaker as this one-of-a-kind contest will increase consumers’ awareness of our hot dogs and chili.”
Locally, Wienerschnitzel will promote the “Win a Valentine’s Day Date with The Delicious One” contest by store displays and bag stuffers featuring Wienerschnitzel’s February special, a Chili Lover’s Combo for $3.79.
This new Valentine’s Day Internet contest is one of many ways Wienerschnitzel plans to target “Generation Y”, who are believed to typically use the Internet exclusively as their main source of information and communication.
Founded by John Galardi in 1961, with a single hot dog stand in Wilmington, Calif., Wienerschnitzel is one of the real pioneers of the quick service food industry.
