Wingstop is gearing up for their largest sales day of the year – Super Bowl Sunday.

The chicken-wing-only chain estimates that more than 2.2 million chicken wings will be sold systemwide at their more than 260 locations in 26 states on the day of the big game.

Since Wingstop’s inception 11 years ago, Super Bowl Sunday has consistently netted the chain its largest gross sales day each year. On Super Bowl Sunday in 2005, the chain sold more than 1.75 million wings.

“We have 11 years of experience gearing up for Super Bowl Sunday and all of our franchisees are well prepared for the rush,” said Jim Flynn, Wingstop’s CEO. “We have guests that return to Wingstop year after year because they know that we’re the wing experts and our wings will be prepared fresh and made-to-order – even on a day where we make more than 2 million of them.”
