Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame Inducts Cousin's CEO

Cousins Subs founder and CEO, Bill Specht will be inducted into the Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 10. The WBHF recognizes and honors the professional accomplishments of visionary businessmen and women who have shaped the state’s economic landscape. Specht was chosen for his business savvy, entrepreneurial vision, and community spirit.

“When we founded Cousins Subs in 1972, we knew we were on to something special – a better sub sandwich experience for the people in Wisconsin,” Specht says. “We have never taken any shortcuts when it comes to creating and growing a strong business model, great community partnerships, and our deli-fresh sandwiches.”

Each year, business leaders are honored at the Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Benefit Dinner, with proceeds benefiting Junior Achievement. This year’s introduction ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 10 at 5:15 p.m. at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee.

“Cousins Subs has had the good fortune to be able to give back to community programs throughout our 42 years in business,” Specht says. “Last year, we formalized our charitable giving through our Make It Better Foundation that established three areas of interest we believe are vital to any community: health and wellness, hunger, and youth education. Junior Achievement is a wonderful organization that gives children the ability to learn real-world skills.”

WBHF laureates are selected through a selection committee comprised of inducted Laureates and Business Deans from the state's universities and colleges. The laureates inducted this year are innovative business leaders who have positively shaped Wisconsin’s business climate.

“Bill Specht’s vision, commitment to excellence, and passion to serve others make him a wonderful laureate selection,” says Tim Greinert, president, Junior Achievement of Wisconsin. “Junior Achievement is proud to be associated with the Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame as we honor individuals like Bill Specht who are truly role models for the next generation of business leaders.”
