Yum! Brands, the world's largest restaurant company and parent of KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell, announced that its “Taking People With You employee leadership training program has received a “Gold Award for Excellence” in the category of custom content from Brandon Hall Group’s Excellence in Learning, Talent Management, and Sales and Marketing Awards.

Yum! Brands’ Taking People With Youtraining program was selected because of its innovation, program design, functionality, measurable benefits, and ability to satisfy the needs of the organization.

More than 100 entries were received within the custom creation category and evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group senior analysts, and executive leadership. An award from Brandon Hall Group signifies one of the top peer recognition honors in the learning industry globally.

The Taking People With You training program is based on Yum! Brands chairman and CEO David Novak’s New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling book, Taking People With You: The Only Way to Make Big Things Happen.

The book, released in January 2012, contains secrets based on the unique leadership program Novak developed and has taught during his15 years at Yum! to thousands of managers and franchisees around the world.

It offers a step-by-step guide to setting big goals, getting others on board, and achieving break-through results.

Yum! leveraged the book into a formalized training program that is currently being cascaded globally throughout the organization in 11 different languages.

"Our No. 1 goal is to build people’s capability and we are proud that our global Taking People With You training program has been recognized as a gold standard," says Rob Lauber, vice president, Yum! University. "We’re leveraging Taking People With You to cultivate leaders throughout our organization.”

Mike Cooke, CEO of Brandon Hall Group, says, “This year’s winners should be very proud of their achievements especially based on the rigorous judging process all submissions underwent.

“We are honored to recognize the award winners who exemplify a high standard of performance in their organization and demonstrate clear, measurable business results through these innovative programs,” he says.
