“There is a growing demand for convenient snacking options that satisfy hunger as well as nutritional needs,” says Kevin Miles, CEO and president at Zoës Kitchen. “Whether it’s an afternoon snack at the office or a quick bite between school and soccer practice, snack boxes in addition to our Fresh-Take Tubs, are wholesome, fresh, on-the-go solutions that are perfect for our guests’ busy lifestyles.”

Zoës NEW Quinoa Salad incorporates quinoa mixed with carrots, cabbage, green onion, red peppers, tomatoes, and celery, sprinkled with feta and tossed with a zesty lemon vinaigrette. In combination, the ingredients bring forth crisp, fresh vegetable textures, colors and herbs that leave guests feeling satisfied with a hearty salad that has bursts of citrus notes. Quinoa is an ancient, superfood grain that is gluten-free and is a great source of iron, vitamin B-6 and magnesium. The new salad is hearty enough to be eaten on its own or with one of Zoës Kitchen’s protein choices—chicken, steak, salmon or shrimp.

The Zoës Kitchen menu is inspired by the Mediterranean food philosophy, which promotes consumption of ingredients including olive oil, nutrient-rich legumes, fresh fruits and vegetables, moderate consumption of lean proteins, moderate consumption of dairy products (mostly as cheese and yogurt), and moderate wine consumption. In addition to feeling great, studies on the Mediterranean diet report compelling functional benefits including reduced rates of cardiovascular disease, cancer and high blood pressure. The diet has also shown to increase longevity of life and to serve as a successful strategy for healthy weight loss. Zoës’ month-long celebration will promote connecting with friends, staying active, and enjoying simple ingredients that fuel a healthy life, ultimately encouraging our guests to feel their best by making choices that reflect Mediterranean living.
