Jamba Juice Company, a leading healthy, active lifestyle company, announced the company’s second National Hiring Day (NHD) initiative.
Interviews will take place in 100 stores across the nation on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In 2012, Jamba pledged to hire 2,500 summer youth and exceeded its pledge by nearly 300 percent, hiring close to 6,000 nationwide.
In an effort to expand this year’s commitment, Jamba has tapped the support of its franchise store owners to illustrate how small businesses can play a significant role in creating jobs through focused efforts and a collaborative commitment.
"We continue to be committed to helping our nation’s youth gain valuable skills and work experience that will be critical to their future career success," said James D. White, chairman, president, and CEO of Jamba Juice, in a press conference. “This year, we are partnering with several key franchisees to illustrate the role that small businesses owners can play in helping to stimulate job growth and the economy.”
Assistant secretary of labor for employment and training Jane Oates says, “When young people are given the opportunity to work over the summer, they learn about careers, meet adults with life experiences to share, and gain skills needed to enter the workforce. We are delighted to see Jamba Juice’s ongoing commitment to expanding employment and mentoring opportunities for young American workers.”
