Cold Stone Creamery Lands in Kenya

The Cold Stone Creamery brand continues to pave its way internationally with its newest locations in Kenya. Kahala Brands, the parent company of Cold Stone Creamery, signed a 10-year master franchise agreement with Om Nom Nom Mauritius Ltd. (ONN Ltd.) in Kenya. There are seven stores slated to open over a five-year period, and the first location will be in the capital city of Nairobi, scheduled to open in late September 2014.

The Best of Both Worlds

Menu innovation remains one of the best ways a brand can stay fresh in consumers’ minds, and quick serves are taking product development to another level by partnering with other food brands to create new menu items.

These partnerships have created some of the most successful product launches in recent memory, including Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos Tacos and Popeyes’ Zatarain’s Butterfly Shrimp, to name a few.

Cold Stone Creamery Makes Its Way to 26th Country

Cold Stone Creamery continues to expand its footprint with South Africa becoming the 26th country the brand has entered.

Kahala, the parent company of Cold Stone Creamery, has signed a master franchise agreement with Wilshire Foods SA.

Wilshire Foods SA brings more than a decade of experience and managerial skills in several industries in South Africa, including technology, real estate, and mining. It also brings strong food and beverage experience and expertise to the Cold Stone Creamery partnership, with a large F&B foothold across the United Arab Emirates.

They seemed to pop up almost overnight. This year, Cold Stone Creamery is celebrating 25 years of the “Ultimate Ice Cream Experience.”

From the first store opening in Tempe, Arizona, in 1988, Cold Stone Creamery has expanded its passion for making fresh ice cream every day in every store in 25 countries and more than 1,500 stores.

Cold Stone Scoops Up Two New Asians Markets

The Cold Stone Creamery brand continues to develop an expanding international footprint with upcoming locations in the Philippines and Bangladesh. 

The brand is teaming up with a master partner in each market to expand the ice cream concept throughout Asia.

Kahala, the parent company of Cold Stone Creamery, has signed 10-year Master Franchise Agreements with Olive Tree Foods Ltd. in Bangladesh, and with Arizona Ice Cream Corporation in the Philippines, both of which look to bring the Ultimate Ice Cream Experience into their respective markets.

Cold Stone Creamery Launches New Catering Program

Cold Stone Creamery launched a new catering program at select locations nationwide November 1. The new catering offerings include five unique, miniature novelties - Cake Bites, Cake Pops, Mini Cones, Canapés, and Cone-olis. Whether it’s a birthday, wedding, retirement party, or just another Thursday, the new miniature desserts are sure to impress guests.  

OLO Receives $5M in Funding from PayPal

OLO, the fastest-growing digital commerce engine for restaurants, announced a $5 million dollar Series B financing from PayPal and existing investors. 

The New York–based company is hiring as it aggressively scales operations for a breakout year in 2013.

OLO allows customers to order and pay from restaurant websites and mobile apps, so that they can “Skip the Line” at the restaurant of their choosing. OLO transmits the prepaid order directly to the restaurant point-of-sale (POS) system.
