Pokeatery, the popular fast casual poke restaurant based out of California, opened its second location in Castro Valley. Conveniently inside the Lake Chabot Public Market, the location is 350 square feet and offers the full menu. The franchisors are looking to open more restaurants and are currently searching for sites for their third store.

Inspired by their love of Hawaiian culture and cuisine, and bolstered a long family history in the restaurant business, couple Derek and Joann Chung decided to bring poké to the mainland by opening the original restaurant in San Mateo, California, in 2015.

Pokeatery offers a unique and diverse variety of fresh fish, bases, mix-ins, sides, sauces, and toppings so customers can customize their poké bowl to their own liking.

“We are very excited to open our second location,” says founder Joann Chung. “We feel our unique menu and great unit economics position Pokeatery to be a leader in the super hot poké category.

Fransmart is the franchise development company behind the explosive growth of brands like Five Guys Burger and Fries and Qdoba Mexican Grill and will serve as Pokeatery’s exclusive franchise development partner.
