Bubbakoo’s Burritos, the fan-favorite Mexican-fusion restaurant concept, is officially coming to Michigan with the state’s first-ever location set to open inside the Soaring Eagle Casino on January 11.Located within the casino’s new Food District at 6800 Soaring Eagle Blvd, the restaurant is owned by Michael Hughes and Lloyd Sugarman.

Hughes and Sugarman are both seasoned multi-brand entrepreneurs with an extensive background in the restaurant and franchising industries. The pair are also Johnny Rockets location owners and first met Bubbakoo’s founders, Bill Hart and Paul Altero through this venture several years ago. In the time since, each has developed a close relationship with the other, leading Hughes and Sugarman to gain interest in the Bubbakoo’s brand and eventually, open a restaurant of their own.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the Bubbakoo’s family and look forward to introducing the brand to the community and to visitors at Soaring Eagle,” said Hughes. “Being able to open the first restaurant in Michigan is an honor, especially since it has been a long time coming. Bubbakoo’s holds a special place in our hearts, and we can’t wait to see what the future brings. Our goal is to provide a memorable dining experience that will keep guests coming back for more and I’m eager to open our doors to all.”

Bubbakoo’s Burritos has become a fan-favorite over the past 16 years for its unique menu, superb customer service and welcoming dining environment. The new Bubbakoo’s Burritos offers the classic menu items the brand is known for, such as the recently renamed Papi Hibachi (hibachi style steak and shrimp) burrito, Nashville burrito, Burritodilla, customizable entrees and more. Each menu item is made with fresh, tasty ingredients that will please any palette.

“We’re always looking for ways to meet our superfans where they are, so exploring non-traditional locations like casinos has been a new, yet exciting experience,” said Paul Altero, co-founder of Bubbakoo’s Burritos. “We’ve seen an increased demand for the Bubbakoo’s brand in the last several years, which has allowed us to expand into new markets including Michigan. A lot of our success can be attributed to franchisees like Michael & Lloyd, and we are confident this new location in Mt. Pleasant will be a hub for the area where all can come together to enjoy some delicious food.”
