Today La Boulange opened the doors to its first restaurant outside of its hometown San Francisco, bringing a new, all-day concept to the Los Angeles dining scene. Inspired by La Boulange’s rustic bakery and café roots, the new all-day menu offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, bringing the same passion and commitment to serving authentic food paired with an upscale, yet approachable, vibe and atmosphere customers can enjoy throughout the day.
“Since opening our first bakery, Boulangerie, in San Francisco in 1999, our vision has always been to share our passion for incredible food in a great atmosphere with as many people as possible,” says Pascal Rigo, founder of La Boulange. “Having the opportunity to bring that passion to the vibrant Los Angeles food scene is incredible and a natural next step for the La Boulange brand.”
The new menu builds on many of the traditional and popular dishes that have been served in the brand’s San Francisco cafes for many years, using local California-sourced ingredients wherever possible. Menu items range from omelets or scrambles to hearty house-made granola and yogurt, open-faced sandwiches, and build-your-own burgers made with grass-fed beef. These are all paired with a variety of beverages including single-origin pour-over coffee, tap wine and beer, house-made specialty cocktails, and handcrafted milkshakes.
The restaurant features a “modern farmhouse”-inspired design to create a warm, inviting, and relaxed atmosphere where guests feel comfortable gathering for a meal or drink any time of the day. Every element, from the butcher block-style tables to the chairs, subway tiles, lighting, stenciled concrete, signage, and artwork, has been thoughtfully selected to foster this warm, inviting, and relaxed atmosphere.
La Boulange is committed to giving back to the communities it serves. For every Club Sandwich purchased, La Boulange will donate 35 cents to the LA Regional Food Bank. For every 35 cents, the LA Regional Food Bank distributes enough food for one meal. La Boulange has been successful in its hometown community efforts—since starting its La Boulange Fridays fundraising program just three years ago, the brand has helped to raise $1 million in donations for various San Francisco Bay Area local nonprofits.
