Lola Beans, the fast-growing dual drive-thru beverage concept known for handcrafted coffee, energy drinks, teas, lemonades and its signature Lola Colas (infused sodas), has signed a five-unit development agreement to enter the Miami market. The deal marks another major step in the brand’s expansion, coming just one week after Lola Beans announced a six-unit development agreement for Delaware.
The new franchisees, Daniela Gonzalez and Joangel “Joey” Lopez are immigrants from Nicaragua and Cuba who grew up in Miami, where coffee was always about much more than the drink itself. They grew up surrounded by the city’s cafecito and ventanita traditions, where strong, sweet Cuban-style espresso and walk-up coffee windows have long brought people together for a quick coffee, a familiar face and conversation with a neighbor. As they started families and built their careers, Gonzalez and Lopez came to appreciate the need for a coffee experience that could keep pace with modern life without losing that sense of community.
“Miami has such a strong coffee culture, but it’s also a city that moves fast,” said Gonzalez and Lopez. “We fell in love with Lola Beans because it feels close to home. It brings the spirit of Miami’s ventanita cafecito culture into a modern dual drive-thru that delivers speed without sacrificing connection. The menu goes far beyond coffee, while still keeping that personal interaction. We’re confident that combination will resonate really well here.”
The couple plans to initially develop five Lola Beans locations over the next five years.
“We’ve been excited for a long time about building a strong presence for Lola Beans throughout Florida, and this agreement is an important first step in that vision,” said Donny Bradley, founder of Lola Beans. “Joey and Daniela understand the culture, the community and the experience we want Lola Beans to create, and we believe they will be the first of many outstanding franchisees to help establish the brand across Florida.”
The Miami agreement adds to significant momentum for Lola Beans since beginning franchising in early 2025. Last week the brand signed a six-unit development agreement for Delaware and a 120-unit Texas agreement led by Kirk and Coleen Jeter through Rise Hospitality Group, Inc.
Lola Beans’ founders have hand-picked a team of industry veterans with deep experience in franchise development and operations, marketing, site selection, supply chain and procurement-all focused on giving franchisees the support they need to grow successfully nationwide. “Collectively, our team has never seen this level of interest in a brand or segment before. Our Discovery Days are filling up fast,” said John Moates, Lola Beans’ Development Partner and CDO.
