SusieCakes is partnering with Susan G. Komen, a leading organization dedicated to fighting breast cancer and advancing a cure, to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, SusieCakes will offer a collection of limited-edition cakes and cupcakes, with a minimum donation of $10,000 to Susan G. Komen.
The partnership holds special significance for SusieCakes founder and owner Susan Sarich, a two-time breast cancer survivor. With women making up approximately 80% of the SusieCakes team, the impact of breast cancer is a cause that hits especially close to home for Sarich and the company.
“One in eight women in the United States will confront a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, and I am that one,” said Sarich. “But breast cancer isn’t just a statistic; it’s a harsh reality that has touched my life as a two time survivor and has touched the lives of countless women, men, and families nationwide. At SusieCakes, where 80% of our team members are female, these stats are significant, and they serve as a stark reminder of the pressing need to double down on our efforts towards finding a cure.”
The limited-edition treat collection will run from October 1 through October 31, with SusieCakes offering treats inspired by the iconic pink breast cancer ribbon, giving customers a sweet way to support Komen’s mission.
The collaboration will offer four special treats, each benefiting the nonprofit. The SusieCakes x Komen Cupcake will donate $1 from the sale of each cupcake to Komen. Customers can choose between vanilla or chocolate cupcakes topped with natural pink vanilla buttercream and finished with natural pink sugar.
The SusieCakes x Komen Ribbon Cupcake 4-Box includes two vanilla and two chocolate cupcakes topped with natural pink buttercream, decorated with a ribbon stencil and bordered with natural pink sugar. SusieCakes will donate $4 from the sale of each four-box.
The SusieCakes x Komen Ribbon Flourless Cupcake 4-Box offers a flourless option featuring four chocolate cupcakes topped with natural pink buttercream, decorated with a ribbon stencil and bordered with natural pink sugar. SusieCakes will also donate $4 from the sale of each four-box.
Also offered is the SusieCakes x Susan G. Komen Cake, a 6-inch vanilla cake finished with pink buttercream and customizable cake writing. SusieCakes will donate $5 from the sale of every cake to Susan G. Komen throughout the month of October. Each cake also includes a complimentary candle and matchbox. The Komen Cake will be available through October 31 and is offered exclusively through nationwide shipping, making it available to customers across the country. It will not be sold in SusieCakes bakeries and is available while supplies last.
