Tacodeli, Austin-born taqueria by chef/founder Roberto Espinosa and partner Eric Wilkerson, will open a second Dallas location this coming fall at The Hill Shopping Center—a new mixed-use development located at the northeast corner of Central Expressway and Walnut Hill Lane. The quick format, neighborhood restaurant is open daily for breakfast and lunch, offering a menu of more than 40 made-from-scratch tacos with fresh ingredients—many of which are organic and locally sourced.

Since Tacodeli’s inception in 1999, Espinosa and Wilkerson, inspired by the unique flavors of Mexico City, maintain a commitment to culinary creativity, fresh, organic ingredients and locally sourced products. Fresh tortillas are delivered daily to their West Dallas location (and will continue at The Hill) by La Nortena Tortillas—a local tortilla maker. The menu is also 100 percent gluten-free if tacos are ordered on corn tortilla.

Co-owner Wilkerson says, “I was born and raised in Dallas, so this city has always held a special place in my heart. Roberto and I are very excited to call Dallas our second home for the growing family of Tacodeli restaurants. The community has been extremely welcoming and for that we are truly grateful.”

Espinosa was born and raised in Mexico City. His exposure to interior Mexico City street tacos, time working as an apprentice chef in the Yucatan, travel in Central Mexico, and many of Mexico’s coastal regions have all had a profound influence on his approach to food.

In 1999, Tacodeli opened its doors for the first time at the original location of Barton Skyway and Spyglass in Austin, Texas.  Eric Wilkerson joined Tacodeli soon thereafter as a partner and owner.
