This Veterans Day, Wendy’s is honoring veterans and active-duty military with a free Dave’s Single on Wednesday, November 11 at participating U.S. restaurants.

There’s special meaning behind the hamburger Wendy’s is serving up. The Dave’s Single is named after Wendy’s founder and fellow veteran, Dave Thomas, who joined the U.S. Army at age 18. During his service, Dave attended the Army’s Cook and Bakers School and helped prepare and serve meals for fellow service members, experiences that helped develop the leadership and culinary skills he would later bring to the restaurant business.
