Ascension Coffee, a Dallas-based, women-led specialty coffee roaster and cafe group, opens its first Southlake cafe on Monday, Oct. 12 at 100 State St. in Southlake Town Square. The specialty coffee roaster will bring its signature coffees, chef-driven food and all-day hospitality to the 4,223-square-foot space, marking it as its largest location to date.
“At Ascension, we’re intentional about every part of the experience, from the coffees we source and the food we serve to the relationships we build with our guests and our producer partners,” said Jessica Keenan, CEO of Ascension Coffee. “Opening our largest café in Southlake allows us to share that commitment on a larger scale, creating a place where people can gather throughout the day for coffee, food offerings, conversation, and connection. More than anything, we hope to become a meaningful part of the community and a welcoming third space woven into everyday life.”
Ascension’s Southlake location will also feature the fall menu, which includes items that take a unique approach to seasonal flavors:
- Twilight Mocha: adaptogenic mushrooms, white and dark chocolate, oat milk and smoked sea salt
- Dotiki Apple Chai-der: doki, black tea, caramel, spices and ginger beer
- Crispy Hot Chicken Sammie: hand-breaded chicken thigh, spicy agave house slaw, roasted red pepper aioli and house pickles on brioche
- Apple Pie French Toast: croissant bread, house-made apple chutney, vanilla cream, cinnamon sugar and maple syrup.
Ascension sources coffees produced by women, supporting greater economic opportunity and recognition for women across the coffee supply chain, with rotating single-origin selections available through the café’s slow bar. Ascension’s focus on community extends beyond the cafe. The company also worked with North Texas creatives on the Southlake cafe, including Dallas-based Tower Design Studio, which designed the interior, and Fort Worth artist Jan Riggins, who created a commissioned 3-D art installation for the space.
Ascension will be holding a grand opening celebration on Thursday, Oct. 22, starting at 4:30 p.m., which will include a ribbon cutting with the Southlake Chamber of Commerce.
