Yorkshire Global Restaurants, Inc., parent company for A&W Restaurants, Inc., the world’s oldest franchise restaurant chain, and Long John Silver’s, Inc., announced a 14-unit expansion for A&W in Florida and will host a Franchise Reception for prospective restaurant owners, 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 30, Renaissance Orlando Resort, 6677 Sea Harbor Dr., Orlando.
The expansion agreements include:
• Petro Mart, Inc., will open 10 A&W Restaurants for its Convenience Store/Chevron Gas outlets in Central Florida from Fort Myers to Tarrytown. The first unit will be installed in Bushnell, FL, just north of Tampa and the second in Lakeland. Plans also call for a full size A&W Restaurant. Each operation will include the A&W Restaurant All American Menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, its signature soft drink A&W Draft Root Beer and Root Beer floats. According to Felix Oliu, PetroMart director of operations, the growth plan will take place over the next five years.
• Magna Oil LLC will open four A&W Restaurants in Palm Beach County, Port St. Lucie and Okeechobee. The new A&W will be part of the Magna “One Stop Express” C-Stores and will include the A&W All American Menu. According to Peter Nifakos, principal, Magna Oil, which carries Hess Gas, three of the new restaurants will involve a drive-in component to the facility.
