Charlotte, N.C.—June 13, 2002—Yesterday, Charlotte-based Bojangles’ Restaurants, Inc. appointed Joseph Drury, former CEO of Wendy’s, as CEO and chairman. Upon his appointment, Drury announced that he plans to immediately implement an aggressive growth campaign in the Carolinas for the twenty-five-year-old company.
We are targeting Carolina’s Piedmont and Triad regions for a growth campaign that builds franchising with moderate company growth,” explains Drury, adding that growth is existing markets it to continue as well.
Drury,a ten-year Charlotte resident, comes to Bojangles’ after serving as president of the Carolina Restaurant Group, Wendy’s North Carolina franchise arm. There he led the once failing company to 273 percent growth over the course of eight years.
