Chester’s Internationa today announced a multi-unit co-branded franchise agreement with Utah-based international franchise, Taco Maker.
The multi-unit agreement calls for 100 Chester’s-Taco Maker co-branded locations to open throughout Puerto Rico and Florida during the next five years. While Chester’s has two restaurants in the Luis Muñoz International Airport in San Juan, this franchise agreement will bring the first street side Chester’s locations to Puerto Rico. Chester’s currently has existing locations throughout Florida.
Established in 1978, Taco Maker is the largest Mexican fast-food chain in Puerto Rico. Taco Maker Inc. was acquired by Caribbean investment group, FransGlobal, in 2006 and continues to expand its brand throughout Puerto Rico and the continental United States.
In signing this multi-unit agreement, Chester’s has become part of FransGlobal’s expansion plan that hopes to see more than 1,200 Taco Maker and Chester’s-Taco Maker stores opened by 2011.
The co-branded Chester’s-Taco Maker locations in Florida and Puerto Rico will be stand-alone restaurants offering both dine-in and take-out options.
