Cutlets Sandwich Co. launched Tuesday, bringing quality sandwiches directly to New Yorkers’ doorsteps. A celebration of the beloved hometown delis that define the New York Metropolitan landscape, Cutlets has reimagined classic combinations using nutritious ingredients and real food, sourced from likeminded producers. Cutlets is the first solo endeavor from Richard Zaro, of the iconic Zaro’s Family Bakery, and the realization of a longtime mission to spread deli culture beyond its regionalized roots.
Cutlets’ commitment to a cleaner sandwich begins in partnership with independently owned farms and purveyors, including Allen Harim Farms (Maryland & Pennsylvania), Plainville Farms (Massachusetts) and Neuske’s Applewood Smoked Meats (Wisconsin). Unprocessed proteins, free from antibiotics, hormones, added sugars and chemicals of any kind, are paired with seasonal vegetables, cheeses made from cows not treated with rBST and classic sauces that are either made in-house or by passionate artisans. “Our intention is to pay respect to the deli sandwiches we know and love by bringing exceptional ingredients to the table,” states Zaro. “I grew up on chicken cutlet wedges and turkey sandwiches. The deli experience is a huge part of my identity.”
The menu at Cutlets includes optionality to create your own combination, choosing from proteins like House Roasted Turkey, the eponymous Chicken Cutlet, Grilled Chicken, Eggplant Cutlet, Thick Cut Bacon and Cage-Free Eggs. Essential add-ons include shredded iceberg lettuce, roasted red peppers, beefsteak tomatoes, avocado, broccoli rabe and others, alongside sauces like mayo, Dijon mustard, aged balsamic vinegar, Frank’s RedHot, BBQ Sauce, Cutlets basil pesto and Cutlets special sauce. All bread – seeded or unseeded rolls and heroes– is baked fresh daily from Little Italy’s Parisi Bakery.

Opening in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cutlets is launching as delivery-only, taking all necessary measures to ensure a safe and contact-free experience for both diners and employees.
