When Wendy Kanno-Hendryx and her husband Mark sold their Chicago company to a Fortune 500 firm and decided to retire in Marin County, California, to be near Wendy’s family, she knew she still had the entrepreneurial itch. Her love of fitness and the outdoors coupled with her love of great food started her thinking about foodservice franchises that would be a perfect fit for San Francisco.
“After considering everything from internet-driven business to coffee houses, a friend in Chicago had lunch at Freshii, and suggested I take a look,” Kanno-Hendryx says. “I quickly learned that Matthew Corrin, founder of Freshii, was a leader in making a real change in the fast-casual restaurant business. His concept of fresh, wholesome food is already on track with the latest trends, but he took it to a new paradigm by using organic foods, biodegradable packaging, and customer-made orders, most of which is from raw vegetables and organic ingredients when possible.”
“San Francisco is a top tier target market for Freshii, as the sixth largest metro in the U.S.,” says Matthew Corrin, CEO of Freshii. “I was in San Francisco a few weeks ago looking at potential locations and we can’t wait to open. We’re thrilled to have Wendy as a partner in San Francisco. Her passion for health and wellness combined with an entrepreneurial spirit and a business savvy gives us confidence that we’ll launch San Francisco with great success.”
