Gigi's Cupcakes, America’s largest cupcake franchise, has opened a new flagship corporate training center and test kitchen in the Nashville area that will serve as the company’s testing ground for continued menu innovation throughout the brand’s nearly 100 bakeries nationwide.
The new bakery debuted in September at 1017 Crossings Boulevard, in Spring Hill, Tennessee. The location will offer new breakfast menu items being tested, such as quiche, muffins, and cinnamon rolls. It also sells a new line of ice cream that features three proprietary Gigi’s cupcake flavors—Red Velvet, Midnight Magic, and Wedding Cake—mixed into ice cream and served in handcrafted waffle cones. The store also includes a full-service coffee bar serving Gigi's specialty coffee.
“Innovation is at the heart of the Gigi’s Cupcakes brand and we are not stopping with just cupcakes,” says founder Gigi Butler. “There is a huge demand from our customers for more breakfast options, and we’re excited to test these new items and begin to roll them out to franchisees.”
Gigi’s Cupcakes, best known for its signature “Gigi’s swirl,” offers a variety of gourmet desserts, including 300 rotating cupcake flavors, mini cupcakes, cheesecakes, stuffed cookies, bread loaves, and custom cakes, all of which are freshly baked and decorated daily at local Gigi’s Cupcakes bakeries.
In a move to further grow sales of the brand’s diverse menu, Gigi’s Cupcakes recently unveiled a new bakery prototype that features upgrades such as refrigerated bakery cases, high-definition electronic menuboards, as well as greater seating capacity compared to traditional locations.
