As the premium burger category continues to gain momentum, Jersey Mike’s has set the bar high with top-quality ingredients among sub shops. The Manasquan, New Jersey, chain was recognized for leading promotions of the Certified Angus Beef brand on menuboards, social media, and advertising.
The Restaurant Chain Marketer of the Year award was presented to Mike Manzo, COO, at the beef brand’s annual conference, held September 18–20 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs in Palm Desert, California.
Restaurateurs joined cattle ranchers and distributors at the event to discuss premium beef from farm to table and celebrate accomplishments during its 35th year.
“Jersey Mike’s understands quality and effectively brings the best to customers every day,” says John Stika, the beef company’s president. “We appreciate the opportunity to grow with this bold and innovative chain.”
Jersey Mike’s introduced the Certified Angus Beef brand in its roast beef and Provolone subs in 2000, when the chain had 170 stores. Today, it has more than 750 locations open and under development nationwide. Beef is roasted at restaurants nationwide, where subs are prepared with freshly sliced meats, cheeses, and toppings.
“Quality is very important to us and our customers,” Manzo says. “That’s why we serve only the Certified Angus Beef brand for our famous roast beef sub.”
