Kona Ice, the nation’s largest mobile food franchise, has announced a landmark milestone: the brand now operates in all 50 U.S. states. With the opening of its newest truck in Fargo, Kona Ice has rounded out the country to bring the Kona Ice experience to even more customers.

Leading the charge into this final frontier are local entrepreneurs Scott and Amy Kiehl. The Kiehls are bringing the signature Kona Ice experience to community events, schools, and youth sports across the Fargo area.

A National Milestone Meets a Local Celebration

What started in 2007 as a single truck in Florence, Kentucky, has grown into a massive fleet of over 3,000 points of sale. Reaching North Dakota marks the completion of a strategic national expansion, cementing Kona Ice’s status as a household name from coast to coast.

In a poetic twist of timing, the Kiehls are launching during a historic summer. As Kona Ice celebrates reaching its 50th state, the city of Fargo is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Fargo Street Fair—making the truck’s grand debut at the fair a perfect “50/50” celebration during America’s 250th Anniversary summer.

“Reaching all 50 states is a testament to the joy our franchisees bring to their local communities,” said Tony Lamb, founder and CEO of Kona Ice. “It’s only fitting that we celebrate this achievement in Fargo with Scott and Amy, who embody the community-first spirit that our brand is built on.”

For the Kiehls, joining the Kona Ice family was about more than just serving treats; it was about giving back. Kona Ice is renowned for its philanthropic business model, having raised and donated more than $250 million to local schools and organizations since its inception.

“Kona Ice’s ‘Be Good, Do Good, For Good’ mission was the catalyst for us,” said Amy Kiehl. “Coming from families with deep roots in the Detroit Lakes area, we’ve always understood the importance of community. We wanted to build something of our own that allows us to give back to the very people who support us.”
