Meatheads announced a new partnership with Chicago Bears wide receiver Cameron Meredith and SocialWorks to inspire young people with the powerful message that determination, hustle, and hard work make all the difference when pursuing one’s dream. The campaign is part of the fast casual chain’s commitment to the communities it serves and will support SocialWorks, a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to children, community, and culture.

“Since we opened our first restaurant 10 years ago, we’ve made celebrating determination, hustle, and hard work the core of our mission,” says Meatheads CEO Tom Jednorowicz. “Cameron’s success and commitment to giving back is a perfect example of these principles in action, and we can’t wait to share his story to inspire others.”

Doing whatever it takes to achieve a dream has distinguished professional athlete Cameron “Cam” Meredith throughout his career. As a young boy, Cam promised his mother that he was going to be a pro football player. Even though he had a successful career in high school and college at Illinois State University, he hadn’t competed at the level most would consider mandatory for a chance at the professional level. But he didn’t give up, working tirelessly on his game and never losing hope. When he was offered the opportunity to play with the Chicago Bears in 2015, Cam knew this was just as much because of his persistence and faith as his talent.

“Simply put, achieving success is all about determination, hustle, and hard work,” says Cam. “I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I never gave up on myself and I want to share this message with other young people to help them on their own journeys, whether that’s on the field or wherever they want to make a difference. This is why I’m excited to partner with Meatheads and SocialWorks to inspire others.”

SocialWorks was founded to provide young people with pathways for expression, engagement, and education through leadership opportunities and by nurturing positive relationships within their communities. Its programs and grantmaking focus on empowering youth through arts, education, and civic engagement.

The partnership is kicking off on September 8 with the launch of “Catch a Camburger and Inspire Others.” As part of the launch, the chain is adding the “Camburger,” Cam’s specially designed burger, to its menu and 20 percent of net proceeds from every purchase will support SocialWorks. The Camburger is a 100 percent Certified Angus beef burger served with fried egg, bacon, pineapple, jalapeño, and BBQ sauce on a fresh-baked bun. It will be available for $7.25 at all 17 Meatheads locations from September 8 through December 31.

“Inspiring others is something you can pay forward again and again,” says Jednorowicz. “We will be encouraging young people to share their own stories of how determination, hustle, and hard work have helped them in their own lives.”

There will also be opportunities to meet Cam at Meatheads locations, fun contests on social media, and numerous chances to win merchandise from Cameron Meredith and SocialWorks. Information about events and prizes will be announced in the coming weeks.
