Newk’s Eatery announced a 10-restaurant expansion in Southeast Florida, bringing its state footprint to 27 restaurants total over the next five years. Upcoming openings will be in Martin, St. Lucie, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Currently, the award-winning ‘fine-casual’ brand has 13 restaurants in Florida and 119 overall.
“At Newk’s, great food drives us, so it’s exciting to see how well received our thoughtfully curated menu has been in Florida as we nearly double in size,” says Stewart Slocum, CMO of Newk’s Eatery. “Our founder Chris Newcomb, who develops our dishes, is a true foodie, and his passion for big flavors and generous portions is brought to life in every dish. We source the finest seasonal ingredients, cooking with premium meats, seasonal vegetables, house-roasted garlic and house-infused olive oils. We take a hands-on approach to every meal, going the extra mile with our ingredients – even if that means importing from Europe. We house-make all of our own dressings, we hand-chop our vegetables, we slice our own meats, and we hand-roll our pizza dough – every morning, every day.”
At Newk’s, guests enjoy a culinary-driven menu where every meal is prepared to-order in an open-view kitchen. The robust menu offers toasted sandwiches with flame-grilled meats, more than a dozen entrée salads, kettle-batch soups and hand-rolled pizzas for lunch and dinner. Prime ingredients are used for every dish, including petite tenderloin steak, Atlantic salmon, all-white meat chicken breast and sushi-grade ahi tuna. All premium cuts are hand-sliced and grilled in-house. Newk’s also owns its own bakery, making signature Dozen-Layer Cakes every day with flavors like Strawberry, Caramel, Chocolate and a seasonal feature – now an Iced Lemon dozen-layer cake for summer.
The centerpiece of the Newk’s dining room is The Roundtable – which offers a generous selection of free premium garnishes, including imported pepperoncini, Torinesi-style breadsticks, grated Parmesan, house-made croutons, bread & butter pickles, along with seasonal features like Fire & Ice pickles, pickled watermelon rinds or house-made giardiniera. Known for its collectible 32 oz. cup, Newk’s also features an Iced Tea Bar with fresh-brewed Rainforest Alliance Certified iced teas: unsweet, sweet, sweetened with Splenda® and a seasonal brew – now a Kenyan-grown Raspberry Iced Tea made with natural raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and currants.
Eagle Dining, LLC, comprised of a restaurateur team of siblings Rebecca and James Fuller, will operate the 10 new restaurants in Southeast Florida. Since 2011, they’ve owned and operated three Newk’s restaurants in Louisiana. They also recently acquired their first Florida restaurant in Palm Beach Gardens, as well as the rights to build four new restaurants in Southwest Florida. The Fullers have a storied career in the restaurant industry since childhood. Their father and business partners were the first Wendy’s franchisees in Louisiana. They worked on the financial side of their dad’s business, before assuming operations and multi-unit responsibilities for the franchise’s restaurants.
“For us, the restaurant business is a family business, and that’s what makes Newk’s so special,” says Rebecca Fuller. “When we had the opportunity to open Newk’s in Louisiana, and now in Florida, we jumped at it. It’s been a great experience since the beginning. Employees are like family, and our customers see that and feel that they are as well. We’re thrilled to bring Newk’s to more neighborhoods in Florida.”
To celebrate the Fullers recently acquiring Newk’s in Palm Beach Gardens at 11345 Legacy Avenue, they will host a “Dozen-Layer Cake Cutting Ceremony” with the Palm Beach North Chamber on Wednesday, June 27 at 10 a.m. Guests will enjoy meeting with the Newk’s team and members of the local community.
Newk’s is open everyday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For guests in a hurry, the restaurant features online ordering, mobile app/skip the line options, and a Grab-N-Go cooler section filled with Newk’s’ most popular fresh-made sandwiches, salads, soups, desserts and beverages. Catering is also available for groups of all sizes, with specialists on-site to assist in building the perfect spread.
