Orange County, California, Wingstop owner Danny Sonenshine was recently named to OC METRO magazine’s annual 40 Under 40 List.
Each year, OC METRO magazine, Orange County’s premier business and lifestyle publication, selects a group of young professionals who have proven that they have what it takes to make a difference in Orange County through passion, enthusiasm, and drive.
Throughout the year, OC METRO’s editorial staff collects nominations and scours submissions until the time comes to determine the top young professionals worthy of securing a spot on the 40 Under 40 List. This year, Sonenshine is honored to be chosen and featured in the May issue of the magazine.
Sonenshine is president of Far West Restaurant Group and a Wingstop franchise veteran who operates 19 restaurants in Southern California, including five in Orange County, and opened one of the first Wingstop locations in Los Angeles. He also serves as president of the Wingstop Southern California Advertising Co-op and the Wingstop Franchise Advisory Council.
“I’m honored to be named to the OC Metro 40 Under 40 list,” said Sonenshine. “I’m fortunate to have a great group of restaurant operators and managers in place, and with their help we’ve grown the Wingstop brand throughout Orange County and continue to serve great wings to OC fans.”
In addition to Wingstop, Sonenshine is also involved with several community organizations and holds leadership positions with Human Options and the Young Presidents Organization.
A cocktail reception to celebrate the 2012 40 Under 40 professionals took place at Pelican Hill Resort on May 16, 2012.
Steve Churm, publisher of OC METRO, says, “This year’s honorees have proven that they are rising stars in Orange County. It is encouraging and inspiring to know we have these individuals leading our community and I truly believe that they are the future of Orange County.”
“Southern California is one of the fastest growing markets for Wingstop, and much of that success can be attributed to Danny,” says Jim Flynn, Wingstop CEO. “He’s an excellent operator and we congratulate him on this achievement.”
