Dwayne Johnson and small-batch ice cream company Salt & Straw have teamed up to create a special-edition ice cream, Dwanta’s Teremana Spiked Eggnog, and a new, limited edition Dwanta Claus “Naughty, Nice & Spiked” holiday flavor pack. With the release, $1 from each Dwanta’s Teremana Spiked Eggnog pint sold through December 31, including those in the “Naughty, Nice & Spiked” holiday pack, will benefit World Central Kitchen’s Restaurants for the People program with Teremana Tequila matching every $1 donated. Through the program, World Central Kitchen attacks the growing hunger and economic crises on two fronts by paying local restaurants to cook fresh meals for their neighbors in need—at the same time getting food to hungry people and keeping restaurants and their teams open and working.

Johnson and Salt & Straw’s head ice cream maker Tyler Malek teamed up to craft Dwanta’s Teremana Spiked Eggnog, a new flavor that captures the playful spirit of the season. Dwanta’s Teremana Spiked Eggnog is a take on the classic boozy ‘nog featuring Johnson’s Teremana Tequila, a small batch tequila crafted in the Jalisco Highland mountains which he co-founded with partners Dany Garcia, Jenna Fagnan and Ken Austin. The new ice cream showcases Teremana’s Reposado tequila which lends an oaky vanilla flavor that shines against rich, silky custard all splashed in amontillado sherry and warmed up with nutmeg and salt for a toasty finish. The flavor will be available as scoops and pints across all Salt & Straw scoop shops along the West Coast. Dwanta’s Teremana Spiked Eggnog pints will be accompanied by exclusive Teremana Cocktail recipes to be paired with the ice-cream.

With the ‘nog’s debut, Johnson and Salt & Straw launch a limited availability Dwanta Claus “Naughty, Nice & Spiked” holiday pack exclusively online with nationwide shipping. The five pack includes Dwanta’s Teremana Spiked Eggnog; Johnson’s favorite Salt & Straw Classics, Double Fold Vanilla and Chocolate Gooey Brownie; as well as the “Naughty & Nice” duo, I Saw Mommy Kissing Dwanta Claus and The Rock’n Around the Christmas Tree. The duo was created by Johnson and Salt & Straw in 2019 for the first-ever Dwanta Claus Holiday Pack, which sold out in 36 hours. This year’s  pack will include an exclusive note from signed by Dwanta Claus himself with pint labels also handwritten by Dwanta.

“Dwanta Claus is back to spread delicious holiday cheer with my friends at Salt & Straw and it’s getting boozy. We had some fun creating our new Teremana Tequila infused flavor and more importantly, we are honored to support the incredible work done at World Central Kitchen and their efforts to end hunger and poverty. May your cheat meals be merry, spiked and bright this holiday season,” says Johnson, who acquired an ownership stake in Salt & Straw in 2019 alongside The Garcia Companies Founder, CEO and Chairwoman, Dany Garcia. Johnson and Garcia, both long-time Sale & Straw fans, hold immersive roles as investors and strategic partners with the company.

“Dwanta brings the joy and unity this world needs now more than ever. We initially began talking about creating a special flavor after Dwanye Johnson made an epic ice cream sundae with Teremana for National Ice Cream Day this July,” says Malek. “During a year when we could all use more tequila and ice cream, we hope this flavor captures the spirit of Dwanta and the whimsy of the holiday season. Like the famous poem reads, ‘The Teremana was poured over ice cream with care; And cheers to Old Dwanta! to all he would share.”

Beyond the Dwanta Claus flavors and limited availability pack, throughout the month of December, Salt & Straw offers four additional flavors as part of their Holidays Classics menu. Each of Malek’s flavors embraces the magical warmth of the season making any winter night a joyous one. Offerings include: Cocoa & Peppermint Patties; Gingerbread Cookie Dough; The Great Cookie Swap (v), and Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache. Flavors are available by the scoop or pint at Salt & Straw shops throughout the West Coast, as well as online with national shipping. Guests visiting Salt & Straw locations also have the option to pre-order in advance for either pick-up or local delivery.
