Smalls Sliders is slidin’ back thru the Lone Star State, this time with five new Cans coming to the greater Katy area. The rapidly growing cheeseburger slider brand recently signed a new agreement with established restauranteurs, David Higgins and Preston Cunningham, officially marking the duo’s second franchise agreement with Smalls Sliders.

Higgins and Cunningham previously signed a seven-unit deal with Smalls Sliders throughout North Houston, and after seeing the booming success of the concept they’ve added an additional five Cans to their roster. Having previously developed numerous locations of another popular restaurant brand in the Houston area, Higgins and Cunningham are primed as the perfect pair to continue Smalls Sliders’ growth across Texas.

“We’ve been impressed with Smalls Sliders since day one and knew early on that we wanted to continue growing with the brand,” says Cunningham. “Given how quickly the concept is scaling, adding additional units to our pipeline seemed like the natural fit, and an avenue to make our presence in Texas known before the territory sells out. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the early stages of site selection and really getting to know the Smalls Sliders leadership team, so we can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for us.”

The pair’s second set of locations are slated to begin opening in Q4 of 2024, with an aim to target the greater Katy, Bella Terra and Rosenberg areas.

“David and Preston are fantastic operators, and we’re thrilled they’re continuing to grow alongside us as we prepare for another milestone year,” says Maria Rivera, CEO of Smalls Sliders. “Texas has proven to be a state that is primed for our expansion, and we expect to see Cans dropping throughout the state in the coming months.”
