This June, Stevi B’s Pizza will celebrate the summer season with the debut of its latest specialty dessert pizza, the Lemon Drop. The Lemon Drop dessert pizza is made of a lemon crème filling, streusel and a lattice of sweet vanilla icing, providing customers a tart treat after their meal.
In celebration of its launch and the concept’s dedication to the communities it serves, Stevi B’s will be participating in the Seventh Annual Lemonade Days (June 11-13), when volunteers across the country will host Alex’s Lemonade Stands in an effort to raise $1 million in the battle against childhood cancer.
Every year, more than 12,000 children and teens under the age of 20 are diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. More than 2,500 of those children will not survive. In order to increase the rate of progress to cure children with cancer, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation raises necessary funding each year that goes directly towards research to find a cure. Stevi B’s will take part in the action this year by setting up Alex’s Lemonade Stands outside of each Stevi B’s location during its Annual Lemonade Days weekend. Donors who gives $10 or more will receive a free buffet voucher to use on their next visit.
“Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is a wonderful organization that mirrors Stevi B’s dedication to families, fundraising initiatives, and community,” says Matthew Loney, president of Stevi B’s Pizza. “With the launch of our Lemon Drop pizza, we could not think of a better time to showcase Stevi B’s latest unique specialty pizza than during Lemonade Days weekend, where Stevi B’s will take an active role in collecting funds for this well-deserved organization.”
Call to Action
As of May 21, Stevi B’s has been encouraging families, customers, fans, and followers (via Facebook and Twitter) to volunteer to set up Alex’s Lemonade Stands outside of each Stevi B’s location during Lemonade Days, which takes place June 11-13. Groups can choose to volunteer for one or more of these days. Each Stevi B’s location will provide a minimum of 10 Lemon Drop pizzas for volunteers to have at their stand to sample to people who donate. In addition, each group that volunteers will receive 10 free to-go pizzas for volunteering during Lemonade Days.
To volunteer, groups should visit a local Stevi B’s location or visit Stevi B’s Facebook page and sign up through the page’s wall. In addition, Stevi B’s has set up a donations page for anyone who would like to donate to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
7th Annual Lemonade Days
Founded by Scott in 2004, Lemonade Days is a three-day national event that grew out of Alex’s front yard lemonade stand, and is held every year on the same June weekend. During Lemonade Days, dedicated volunteers host thousands of Alex’s Lemonade Stands across the country, raising more than $1 million for childhood cancer research in one weekend. June 11-13 marks the 7th Annual Lemonade Days with an estimated 10,000 volunteers at more than 2,000 Alex’s Lemonade Stands around the nation making a difference for children with cancer.
“We remain committed to finding new ways to treat and cure childhood cancer and appreciate Stevi B’s participation during our Seventh Annual Lemonade Days,” says Jay Scott, Alex’s father and executive director for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. “It is through the support of companies like Stevi B’s Pizza and the thousands of volunteers across the country that we are able to continue our daughter’s dream of finding a cure.”
