Tijuana Flats, the brand known for its Tex-Mex food and hot sauce, launched its new website at www.tijuanaflats.com. The fast-casual restaurant’s website received a full creative and developmental overhaul, using responsive web design, which allows guests to navigate easily on most digital devices, such as smartphones and tablets.
Aside from the enhanced functionality, the most noticeable change that Tijuana Flats fans will see is its video game–inspired design. Developed by the restaurant’s agency of record, Push, the new website changes in design based on the device being used, turning one website into three. Users will experience an arcade machine view on desktop computers, and two different hand held game platform views when using tablets and on smartphones.
In addition to the design, other enhancements to the website include flathead rewards, which make it easier to register to become a loyalty member; updated locations with Google Map integration and an individual page for location-specific information; a new option to purchase digital gift cards; and a careers page, which makes it easier to learn about careers and apply for positions.
Adding to the website’s interactivity is the new feature of so-called “easter eggs.” These secret and hidden items are incorporated throughout the site for users to find. Each one can be unlocked to reveal a secret action on the page.
“We’re interested to see how guests will respond to the new website,” says Brad Kaemmer, CEO of Tijuana Flats. “It’s easier to use than ever before, and we’ve worked very hard to not only maintain our brand’s culture, attitude, and freshness, but also made the website exciting each time guests visit.”
