Wingstop served up one of its busiest growth months in company history. The concept opened 10 stores in August alone, which comes on the heels of a 10.3 percent increase in same-store sales in the second quarter.
The high-flying chicken chain spread its wings with new locations this month in San Diego, Baltimore, Phoenix, Atlanta, Chicago, Milwaukee, San Francisco, and Columbus, Ohio.
Wingstop is on track to finish the year with 70 new U.S. locations, while focusing on an expanded presence in the Northeast and Southeast.
With more than 590 locations already open for business, Wingstop is well on its way to its goal of reaching 1,000 locations in five years. Included are international agreements to expand into Russia, Singapore, and Mexico, with commitments to open 400 locations worldwide.
“Our incredible growth over the past year is proof that demand for our great-tasting chicken wings is getting even hotter,” says Charlie Morrison, Wingstop president and CEO. “Thanks to our awesome brand partners and talented support staff, we are ready to keep expanding.”
