Chuck E. Cheese is taking one of its newest concepts nationwide after an initial test in Texas.

The family entertainment brand plans to bring Adventure World, its multilevel indoor playground concept, to more than 20 communities across the U.S. in 2026 and 2027. The expansion follows the debut of the first location in Arlington, Texas, in November 2025, which the company says became one of the most successful openings in Chuck E. Cheese history.

Adventure World represents a different format for a brand historically built around arcade games, pizza, prizes, and birthday parties. The concept covers active and imaginative play, with locations spanning roughly 12,000 to 18,000 square feet or more.

Six U.S. markets are currently scheduled for 2026: West Fargo, North Dakota; Chandler, Arizona; Rochester, New York; Houston; Plano, Texas; and Las Vegas. Another seven have been announced for 2027: Flint, Michigan; MacArthur Park and Hawthorne, California; Crestwood, Illinois; Lakewood, Colorado; Chesterfield, Missouri; and Los Angeles. Additional cities and opening dates will be announced as plans are finalized.

Chuck E. Cheese is also taking the concept internationally with three Adventure World locations planned for Jalisco, Mexico.

“Families have told us they want a place where kids can move and use their imagination all day, with food and celebrations built right in,” Chuck E. Cheese president Randy Forsythe said in a statement. “That’s exactly what we built. Now we get to share it with kids in a lot more cities.”

The expansion builds on an idea Chuck E. Cheese began testing more broadly within its traditional entertainment centers. The company has introduced Trampoline Zones and Superhero Playgrounds as part of its push toward active play. Adventure World takes that strategy and turns it into a standalone destination.

The first Adventure World opened November 13 in Arlington as a 12,000-square-foot concept initially geared toward families with children ages 3 to 8. The company said customer feedback following the debut centered on greater interaction with Chuck E. Cheese characters and the freedom for children to create their own adventures.

Instead of a traditional arcade-focused experience, Adventure World revolves around themed play areas tied to Chuck E. Cheese characters. Kids can explore Munch’s Cosmic Bounce, a space-themed environment; Bella’s Castle Quest, built around a fairy-tale setting; Jasper’s Bubble Reef, an ocean adventure; and Chuck E.’s Jungle Temple.

Locations include climbing structures, slides, ball pits, obstacles, a toddler zone, a large video wall, and a digital live show featuring Chuck E. and friends. Parents can participate in the play areas as well.

Food remains part of the model. The Power Up Station, featuring Pasqually and Helen Henny, offers popcorn, nachos, pizza, and wings. Adventure World also retains birthday parties, one of Chuck E. Cheese’s biggest historical business occasions. Packages begin at $99.99 for six children, and the locations can accommodate field trips, playdates, and other group events.

Admission is sold at a single price for all-day play instead of a timed format. The Arlington location debuted at $19.99 per child, with two parent admissions included with each child admission. Chuck E. Cheese also brought its Kid Check security system to the concept.

Adventure World is part of an effort by parent company CEC Entertainment to expand Chuck E. Cheese beyond its traditional restaurant and arcade model.

The company completed a systemwide remodel and brand refresh and has pursued additional extensions across entertainment and licensing. In addition to Adventure World, CEC plans to expand its Mega-Superhero Playgrounds and resort-based Chuck’s Arcades in 2026. Chuck E. Cheese is also preparing to enter the U.K. for the first time and continue international development.

The expansion is unfolding under new leadership. Scott Drake became president and CEO of CEC Entertainment in February, succeeding David McKillips, who had led the company since 2020. Drake joined CEC as CFO in 2024 after previous leadership positions at Farmer Brothers Coffee Co., GameStop, and 7-Eleven.
