Atlanta Bread Company has announced the hiring of Marisa Moore as its corporate nutritionist.

Moore’s primary responsibility is to coordinate and perform nutrient analysis for all products offered by Atlanta Bread Company and maintain a database of these items, including the food label, food cost, and ingredient lists. In addition, Moore will lead product testing and nutrition education as the internal authority on FDA and USDA standards and as a resource for consumers.

“I began my career in healthcare but I’ve always had a passion for food, culture and the culinary arts,” said Moore. “This is an exciting opportunity to bring together several aspects of nutrition and dietetics as the Nutritionist for Atlanta Bread Company. I feel this role is important as American’s try to achieve healthier lifestyles, especially when dining out.”

Moore’s food industry experience includes a dietary internship with Chick-fil-A, in addition to serving as a Wellness Counselor for Stouffer’s Lean Cuisine. Moore also has extensive healthcare industry experience as an educator on outpatient diabetes in a U.S. clinic and in Ecuador, where she served as an educator for Campo Amigo (a camp for children with Type 1 diabetes), coordinating and facilitating diabetes education for the children through class and one-on-one instruction.

Now an Atlanta resident, Moore serves as a Board Member for the Georgia Dietetic Association as well as being a member of the American Dietetic Association and Greater Atlanta Association of Diabetes Educators.
